TARGETED INTERVENTION PROJECT UNDER NATIONAL AIDS CONTROL PROGRAMME PHASE-111.

 

Targeted intervention (TI) project running with the support of Haryana State AIDS Control Society and NACO, to focus on HIV transmission prevention efforts on the highest-risk groups, of migrant’s in Gurgaon. Our organization has been implementing a comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention programme through targeted interventions with the of migrants and their families since 2008.Our project is renewed by HSACS & NACO from May 2009 to April 2010 on the basis of our excellent activities & achievement during 2008-09. Now we actively running TI project for migrants with following services in the target area at Gurgaon.

Treatment of STDs
» Counseling for STDs HIV/AIDS prevention
» Condom promotion
» Awareness generation regarding STDs/HIV/AIDS through Behavior Change Communication session i.e. One to One and One to Group, Audio visual shows, Street Plays, Panchayat Sensitization Programmes and various other methods.
» Counseling for improving couple relationship
» Counseling on issues related with sex and sexuality
» Medicine to STD clients
» Peer education
» Partner management
» Referral network and linkages with drug demand reduction programs, HIV testing, DOTS and various other care & support services.
» 6150 CSW, MSM, Eunuchs, IDUs & Migrants were provided regular access of quality condoms over the 2008-09 period
» 1365 STI cases were treated and counseled in two centers over a period of a year.
» Over a period of one year, the Behavior Change Communication program implemented.
   
2. MOTHER NGO FARIDABAD FOR RCH-11 PROGRAMME UNDER NRHM.
 

MNGO has been awarded by Ministry of Health and Family welfare Govt. of India to implement RCH-II programme under National Rural Health Mission. In this programme we are covering Maternal Health, Infant Child Health, Adolescent Health, Family Welfare, Reproductive tract infections / Sexually transmitted infections / Cancer control, Infrastructure strengthening for service delivery, Training and Behavioral Change Communication (BCC) .The focus of the activities Janani Suraksha Yojana: Strengthening of Institutional deliveries under JSY through provision of escort and referral services by ASHAs, subsidized hospital services for BPL women, providing adequate nutrition to pregnant women through ICDS .Improved access to universal immunization through introduction of Auto Disabled Syringes, alternate delivery of vaccines at immunization sites and improved mobilization services.

   
3. DRESS DESIGNING TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR WOMEN.
 

The Department of Women & Child Development Haryana, Chandigarh funded the programme. Our organization is successfully` running the dress-designing, handicraft making training program from 01-06-2009 in village Fazilpur block & district Gurgaon. The centre is organizing 6 months course very well. The examination for the course will be scheduled in Nov.2009, one batches of 35 trainees successfully enrolled. The Organization not only giving training but also motivates the trainees to form of SHGs. The district level monitoring of the centre will be done by the district level programme officer of ICDS cell Gurgaon and CDPO.

SWADHAR SHELTER HOME FOR WOMEN IN DISTRESS.

 

Adarsh Swadhar Shelter Home (Nari Niketan) : A 50- bedded Swadhar Shelter Home for women & children at house no. 4/27 Shivaji Nagar, near police commissioner office, Gurgaon, functioning from 1st march 2009 to continue with following objectives.

 
a. To provide primary need of shelter, food, clothing and care to the marginalized women/girls living in difficult circumstances who are without any social and economic support;
b. o provide emotional support and counseling to such women;
c. To rehabilitate them socially and economically through education, awareness, skill up gradation and personality development through behavioral training etc.;
d. To arrange for specific clinical, legal and other support for women/girls in need of those intervention by linking and networking with other organizations in both Govt. & Non- Govt. sector on case to case basis;
e. To provide for help line or other facilities to such women in distress; and
f. To provide such other services as will be required for the support and rehabilitation to such women in distress.
   
 

The organisation look after the recreational needs of the inmates. Home organized a networking with eminent social workers. At present, Ms.Sarita Bhatt, to supervision and look after all activities implementation and documentation. Dr. Seema Nigam, to implementation of health programme to the inmates. Ms.Kaushala Devi to looks after and help inspection of the project and to organise necessary infrastructure at field. Mrs Meena Sharma to organize awareness camps in field at target intervention to the target area. Adarsh Home has established a vocational training centre. Under this programme, the residents are engaged in training, garment stitching & Soft toys etc. Adarsh Swadhar shelter home has organized a legal literacy camp looked after by Mr. Kuldeep Poswal an eminent lawyer of Punjab & Haryana High Court.

   
5. WOMEN HELPLINE UNDER SWADHAR - 0124-6527008

Women and Children are amongst the most vulnerable sections in any social order. A large number of them face violence at the hands of the strangers, family members and others known to them. Such abuse may take place even at homes and work places. The violence may be in form of psychological abuse and actual physical abuse. Victims in most cases cannot take recourse to the criminal justice system for a variety of reasons including the fear of social stigma and lack of knowledge about the institutions that could come to their rescue. In order to provide necessary assistance to such victims, a round the clock ‘Women Helpline’ had been set up at the Adarsh Swadhar Shelter Home (Nari Niketan) Gurgaon, functioning from 1st march 2009 to continue. Woman Helpline working on the following objectives:

 
 
Provide assistance to women/children in distress;
a.

Coordinate with civil society to provide relief to such victims;

b.

Ensure protection of legal rights of women and children;

c.

Act as a nodal point for pooling resources of police and civil society so as to facilitate relief and rehabilitation of victims approaching the helpline and sensitize the police personnel and others about the need for special care of two important constituents of our society, related agencies and formulate necessary interventions strategies.

   
6. FAMILY COUNSELLING CENTRE UNDER CSWB.
 

ARDS is successfully running the family Counseling centre at Gurgaon city. The programme is funded by Centre social welfare board Delhi on the recommendation of Haryana state social welfare board Chandigarh. The Family-counseling centre started w.e.f. 01.03. 2008. The motive of this organization is to resolve conflicts in the family by, Counselling, referral and rehabilitative services to women victims who are in moral danger within the family or society at large including those affected by disputes, marital discord or maladjustment is provided free of charge. Our organisation has selected two counselors (one male & one female) for providing best service to the victims. The programme is appreciated by the many officers and social activist in district Gurgaon.

   
7. AGRICULTURAL & RURAL DEVELOPMENT ACTICITIES.
 

Our organization became the member of District food security mission under department of Agricultural Haryana Govt. We are motivating the farmers knowledge and skills about latest development in to update their Agriculture field. Variety of seeds, different enhanced productivity system, cropping pattern, ill effects of insecticides and pesticides, reclamation of land and to enhance its nutrient capacity etc. Besides, they were also motivate about Vermi-composting system, Horticulture activities etc. 2 Agricultural / Horticulture Experts were called in each camp to motivate the farmers. Organization also creating awareness about medicinal Plants about cultivation & growing of medicinal plants in their land.

   
8. ACTICITIES FOR DISABLED PERSON.
 

Successfully organized 3 Health camps in rural areas of Gurgaon for disabled person, distributed medicines, and aware about artificial prosthesis for disabled persons. During the programme, the organization also distributed clothes to poor and needy disabled persons. The volunteers of the organization also helped the 82 disabled persons to register in Health Department and social welfare department for getting the pension benefits.

   
9. EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTICITIES IN RURAL AREAS.
 

Our organization successfully running one Non-Formal Education centre at village Kadarpur. In this NFE centre, the organization is providing Non-Formal Education to 134 poor & needy school dropout children. In this centre, the organization is also providing free of cost Teaching / Learning material to the students. Last year the organization has admitted 32 students in formal schools. The Govt. is supporting our organisation for providing best services in rural areas.
