10TH ANNUAL REPORT FINANCIAL YEAR 2009-10

 

ARDS has been awarded as best NGO award by the District Administration Gurgaon and department of sports & youth affairs Haryana for giving best services to the community for year 2007-08. Our main objective is to provide sustainable development to urban and rural areas. Our organization has been undertaking various developmental programmes for women through Swadhar shelter home. The organization has not only achieved a tremendous goal but also has developed a body of professionals belonging to various streams. ARDS has also established a vast network of volunteers at the grass roots level and consultants at district level. This Human Resource Asset enables the organization to undertake and implement projects of varying nature in a professionalized manner. Each of the programmes has always focused on achieving programme sustainability and replicability besides the project objectives.
 

  Ongoing & Completed Projects
1. TI PROJECT UNDER NATIONAL AIDS CONTROL PROGRAMME-111
 

Targeted intervention (TI) project running with the support of Haryana State AIDS Control Society and NACO, foxing on prevention of HIV transmission on the high risk groups of migrant’s in Gurgaon. Our organization has been implementing HIV/AIDS prevention programme through targeted interventions with the mobile of migrants and their families since 2008.As per our assessment and past experience shows that there is a rapid increase in vulnerable population, with the aim of reducing the risk of HIV Infection among People who practice high-risk behavior. The main approach of the project is to know the knowledge Attitude & practice of the target audience. Increasing availability and accessibility of condoms to 100% of the TPAs and consistent use among 80% of the target population. Increasing health-seeking behavior among 100% of the TPAs and providing STD treatment using SCM among 500 of the Target population in the target to promote health-seeking behavior by utilizing appropriate counseling techniques and providing STD treatment through identified local service providers and organizing camps. A big event was organized on world aids day on 01/12/2009 which was inaugurated by Sh. Rajesh Khullar IAS (Commissioner .MC Gurgaon)

MOTHER NGO FARIDABAD UNDER NRHM.

 

The status of Mother NGO for district Faridabad under RCH II in which MNGO Project implemented in the target area through four FNGOs. The field implementation of project activities by Mother NGO as well as FNGOs to be done. Three Days Orientation of Project staff of Field NGOs was also conducted. Field visits were also carried out from time to time. Base line survey in first or second month of start up activities was done by field NGOs. RRC MAMTA also carried out training for both Mother NGO as well as FNGOs. The project activities are planed for FNGO target area and services will be provided by organizing a Health camps, Orientation, Field Visits, Motivation, Contacts, FGDs etc. .

EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTICITIES IN RURAL AREAS.

 

Our organization successfully running one Non-Formal Education centre at Kadarpur. In this NFE centre, the organization is providing Non-Formal Education to poor & needy school dropout children. In this centre, the organization is also providing free of cost Teaching / Learning material to the students

   
4. FAMILY COUNSELING CENTRE.

ARDS is successfully running the family Counseling centre at Gurgaon city. The programme is supported by the Centre Social Welfare Board Delhi & Haryana State Social Welfare Board Chandigarh. The Family counseling centre started w.e.f. 01.03.2008. The motive of this programme is to resolve conflicts in the family and settle the disputes for happy family. Two qualified counselors appointed under the programme one male counsellor and one female counsellor. During the year 2009-10 the centre has registered and settled the 56 cases..

   
5. SHORT STAY HOME FOR WOMEN.
 

The Home is providing long/short stays for women and girls in difficulties. Our main objective is to make them rehabilitate and independent earning. They require help and guidance to regain confidence in themselves to meet the situation and to require skills to become self-reliant and to develop relationships with people that could help in the re-establishment of their status in society. For meeting the situation, institutional services with Counseling and guidance, medical and psychiatric check-up and treatment, facilities for development of skills and relationships are provided. The effort has to be to help the women to rehabilitate themselves within a short period of time. An evaluative study was conducted recently to assess the impact of Institutional programmes on residents and discharged residents. It appears from the Study that the scheme has considerably helped the girls and women-facing crisis in their lives. During the year 2009-10 total 216 inmates rehabilitated.

   
6. SWADHAR PROJECT / WOMEN HELPLINE.
 

Swadhar shelter home Gurgaon run by our organisation sponsored by ministry of women and child through Haryana Govt. The Shelter home is providing care, support and vocational training for inmates. As per our record our organisation is rehabilitated 351 inmates during year 2009-10. ‘WOMAN HELPLINE’. PHONE NO. 0124-6527008. specially for women in difficult circumstance like widows, destitute and deserted women, women ex-prisoners, victims of sexual abuse and crimes, including those trafficked and rescued from brothels, migrant or refugee women who have been rendered homeless due to natural calamities like flood, cyclone, earthquake, mentally challenged women, women victims of terrorist violence etc. Sometimes society itself drives such women out of the system to lead lives of sub human existence. More often vulnerable women in distress end up as beggars or prostitutes for their own survival and at times for survivals and maintenance of their dependent children. Somewhere Nari Niketan covers only a fringe of the problems of such women so they need Swadhar home.

   
7. VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR WOMEN.
 

ARDS is successfully running the dress-designing, handicraft making training program for SC women from 01-06-2009 in village Fazilpur block & district Gurgaon. The centre is organizing training course for poor & needy Sc women. Till now 4 batches trainees successfully completed the course. The Organization not only giving training but also motivates the trainees to form SHGs. The district level programme officer of the department is monitoring and supporting the centre foe successful implementation of the project.

   
8. UP HEALTH SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT PROJECT..
 

Our organization completed the contact under implementation of innovative health project in rural areas of Distt. Basti for giving health services through health post. Our main objective was to strengthen mother and child health. A health post at village Barsav for organing activities like immunization, family planning, ANC and PNC health camp, referal services and other services like advocacy and networking with power structures and stakeholders. The programme was supported by the Govt. of Utter Pradesh..
