 From
May 2009 to October 2009 the total migrants covered under IPC
contacts are 4622, out of them 991 migrants (core group) were
identified with high-risk behavior. Out of 991 core group
migrants, 78 migrants were identified as FSWs, 27as MSM, 34 as
IDUs and 326 migrants were identified as a client of FSW/MSM/TG.
These were intervened in different meetings, health camps and
awareness camps by Project director, project manager
Counsellor, ORWs and peer educators. They were motivated to
use condoms.
STD TREATMENT
From
May 2009 to October 2009, we organized 28 health camps/ STD
clinic and in these 1666 no. of migrants undergone for STI/RTI
treatment and 1175 no. Of migrants got treated for various STI/RTI
infections treatment such as VDS, UDU, GSS, Inguinal bubo
swelling, Scrotal Swelling and pain during urination.
CONDOM
From
May 2009 to October 2009 in different camps 3863 migrants were
educated for condom uses. For the promotion of condoms, ORWs
distributed 64444 condoms to the migrants and 29631 condoms
were given during STI clinic and 12820 condoms distributed
through outlet to the migrants. We have established 29 outlets
in Gurgaon for the easy availability of the condoms to the
migrants. Where they can either purchase or get free condoms
by our depot holders.
COMMUNITY MOBILISATION
From
May 2009 to October 2009 in the part of community mobilization
we have organized 3 meetings with stakeholders and power
structures. The different events were conducted for magniful
implementation of targeted intervention programme for migrants
in Gurgaon. |
